Besides designing title sequences for a hypothetical story, I have also designed an alternate opening for American Gods. My goal wasn't to improve on an already great design, but rather to approach the assignment from a different angle while staying somewhat true to the source material. The result is a very self-consciously bassian design, where I deliberately went as retro as possible, but tried to keep the underlying theme of (late) analogue vs. (early) digital.
